Echo's Story
ECHO was created as an automate and given to Ennan Wright to help with his duties around the Altar of Ambition in Bronzedenn. In his older age certain tasks only he knew to do became difficult but would delegate to the automate. ECHO would be left up in the belltower to maintain the machinery and ring the bell should anything fail and would also provide company to Wright as he never had a family of his own. Wright would do his own craft of etching his designs and life story into their metal frame and became attached; the pair became a family, as strange as it was. Every day he prayed and blessed ECHO with exposure to Yorite until one day ECHO woke up. Wright taught what he could about Evos and what it means to create and that while creation is what makes us individuals, working together can accomplish great feats as well.
As time passed, more and more families and workers would leave in droves. Work was becoming more scarce and they would leave looking for opportunities in The Six or even further out west. Wright had always wanted to travel, to explore,to learn. In those last few months before the pair left, they heard a mother in the nave of the church. She prayed for protection, guidance that they may once again find the comfort of community and safety, opportunity. That her children may live a life in the sun unlike her husband and grandfathers before them. ECHO and Wright left Bronzedenn with the final crowd towards the new frontier.
The journey wasn’t easy and the caravan would lose and gain a wagon over the weeks. Late into the night, the camp was seized by a group of bandits. Despite ECHO’s best efforts, Wright ultimately fell from his injuries. Now equipped with Wright’s scarf and hat, ECHO left on their own, hitchhiking, towards the horizon. Closing this first chapter of their life, vowing to protect the dream of their closest companion
